Leah and her mother both had a confused and terrified look on their faces. Her mom got up and hugged Leah. Both crying Leah and their dad walked in and also began to cry and hug their mom. The doctor walked in with a surprised look on his face. He told her that she wasn't supposed to be awake. She said that she felt her daughter take her hand and she remembered the beach they had visited before her drinking problem. Her immediate recover has still not been explained but she believes the warmth of her daughters heart pulled her out of her deep sleep.
The next day their mother was released from the hospital. Exhausted from the terrible night they all spent in the hospital, they all just call it a day and go to sleep. Leah goes to bed with a strange feeling in her stomach but just tries to sleep it off. Leonna knocks on her door and asks if she can sleep with Leah. Leah doesn't mind so she let's her little sister sleep with her for the night. Still not feeling well, Leah gets up to use the bathroom and begins to vomit. Her mother hears the awful noise of her vomiting and gives her some medicine.
Leah wakes up feeling even worse than last night but still tries to ignore it and makes some breakfast. She decides to have eggs and sausage for breakfast. So she gets the eggs out and tries not to wake anybody up. As she reaches for the eggs she sees some blood on the floor and touches her nose and wipes some blood coming from her nose and then starts coughing awfully hard. She screams for her mother and starts bleeding from her ears and she screams unpleasantly because she hears a loud ringing in her ears. Her mom is terrified and calls out for her husband. They quickly go to wake up Leonna and soon carry Leah to the car and rush her to the hospital, skipping all the stop signs and red lights. They arrive at the hospital and watch their daughter be raced into the ER. After 3 hours of waiting to see what is wrong the doctors come back with dreadful news. They have no idea what could have caused her to bleed so much from her ears and nose and cough up blood. So they have her stay in the hospital for some tests.
The next day the doctor has some unusual news. He thoroughly speaks to Leah's parents about his findings. He explains to them that he has never seen what he saw in Leah in his 10 year career. He doesn't find any diagnosis to her condition and informs them that she has to stay in the hospital for more testing. He fears that she may have discovered a new type of cancer within her brain and stomach.
